Maths balanced equations

This week we quickly looked at balanced equations. I already new how to do them and this is a drawing to show my understanding.

Netball

This term me and my friends decided to try out for the Grey Main netball team to play in a tournament that we one last year. We had two trials and a squad was selected to train once a week for two weeks. Yesterday a team was selected and I made it, only four from the squad of fourteen were droped.  I had never played Netball before and it was pretty confusing at the start but I have the hang of it now. 

I am looking forward to the tournament. 

Camp

For maths this week we had to create a DLO for something to explain something we have learn't in maths.  Here is mine.

This week we finished our Myths off. We had to read some myths then make your own from the characteristics that myths have.  Here is my one

Book review

This week I finished The wonderful story of Henry Sugar. 

I liked This book, It was a good size and very interesting. 

The Book was about an extremely rich man that goes to casinos every night and goes with his rich friends to play rich people games. 

One day he went to play blackjack with his friends, but drew the short straw and had to wait until the next round. So he was bored and needed something to pass some time. He chose to go to the library in the house. He looked through the library and only saw boring books until his eyes were caught on a thin book poking out. He read some of the book and resized it was a magician yogi book that talked about a guy that could read playing cards without looking and could see with not just his eyes but his hands and other parts of his body. He fingered out that would be extremely helpful for all the card games he plays and stole the book. 

There was one problem though, It would take years to practice this task and would require lots of effort being a yogi unless you were very special. Although Henry was very concentrated on having this talent and practised multiple times a day.

Maths work book week 5

For maths this week we were doing work around fractions. Here is my work.

This week there was cross country and I came second.  The top 8 in our race were all in Blake town rugby.  The top 3 were really close together.
We wrote a story about it and we had to mark it our self. Here is mine.  

literacy Reflection week 5 Term 1

This week for literacy we were focusing on goal setting. For literacy we had to do two writing goals and two reading goals.

For literacy we also had to choose a topic to write facts about . I chose to write about the Wahine disaster because I know a tiny bit about it.  

For numeracy this week we also 
focused on goal setting. We had to set goals based on our PAT test.

This week we have been trying to write a news paper article on the part of Charlotte's web when lurvy discovers a web with words. It was pretty hard to make it sound like a news paper article.

REPORTA- Franklin

26 5 2016

Early yesterday morning on a very frosty morning a miracle occurred just outside of town in Mr Zuckerman's barn.

It happened when Lurvy (Mr Zuckerman's worker) came into the barn with the slops but in the corner of the barn there was a glistening web with the words SOME PIG written in the centre of the web.  Now here in Mr Zuckerman's  barn there are about one hundred people all wanting to see the miracle.

Fern Arable use to own wilbur when he was a little pig but she sold it to her uncle Mr Zuckerman. Fern said that the spider's name is Charlotte and she is friends  with Wilbur.

Charlotte is thought to be a common house spider.

Mr Zuckerman said “I don’t think I’m having that pig for Christmas”

Word work

For word work this week we had to the words that we given into a sentence.

 This week we have had some words and we had to come up with a word that ment the same and if we couldn't do that we could use the dictionairy.
