Wacky Wednesday

This year wacky Wednesday was very wacky it was on Thursday. Wacky Wednesday is a day where everybody dresses wacky. I arrived at school with my league socks on and I was greeted by teachers wearing ones-es. People had weird hair and weird glasses. 

Golden ticket

On book character week there was 1 golden ticket hidden each day somewhere around the school. The golden ticket was very hard to find but one person in my class found it. The prize if you found it was about 9 books.  

Door Display

For our door display we had Charlie and the chocolate factory. There were ompalompas out side our door and there were golden tickets attached to a string going across the corridor. We also did the BFG and we had giants legs going up through the ceiling. We also had jars full of water and sparkles to look like dreams. 

Book character day

Book character day is a day when you come to school dressed up as a book character. I came as Christoper Tallbit from my brother is a super hero. Every year on book character day the teachers put on a tiny play from a book this year it was Harry Potter and the teachers looked funny. They were all wearing capes or hats and some of them had wigs on.

Buddy reading

Buddy reading is when a younger student at the school comes to read with you. My buddy is Decklin and he can be quite hard to entertain sometimes but he is also quite funny.

Numeracy

This week for numeracy we have been explaining things to do with fractions. I have found this quite difficult because I am not good at teaching other people stuff. Here are 2 of my slides.

Olympics

This week we have continued with our Olympic tasks one of them was to find a New Zealander that was competing in the Paralympics and another one was to find an inspirational story about an athlete in the Olympics. We also had to compare the modern Olympics to the ancient Olympics. I found doing the Inspirational story hard because there was a lot of things to read and it was hard to choose the person to do. The most interesting thing that I learn't was that a boxer turned down 5 million dollars to be professional. Here are my activity's.

Term 3 Week 2 reflection

Olympics 

This week we have been focusing on the Olympics. We have been looking up places that we have never heard of before and writing some facts down about them. We have also been finding some people from NZ going to Rio to compete in the Olympics. I found doing this work quite fun because you could find out about new people and country's that you haven't heard about. I liked finding out about the rugby sevens team. I learn't that Cuba is an Island south of north America.

Refletion

Numeracy

This week for numeracy we have been focusing on teaching fractions. I have not enjoyed teaching fractions, and I am not good at teaching.

Topic 

We are working on finding places and finding some things about them. I like doing this for topic because you get to find places on the map.

Term 2 reflection

Numeracy

This term for Numeracy we focused on working with decimals. We were doing decimals on study ladder and khan academy I found khan academy quite hard.At the end of the term we were planning a trip with a buddy, my buddy and i chose to go to Argentina. I really like doing financial literacy the most.  

Literacy

This term for reading we were focusing on reading punctuation, we focused on how punctuation can change a sentence. This term for writing my group worked on making our paragraphs all about the same subject and we also tried to make our writing sound better by adding some key words.

Prep

This term for prep I handed in a CV to be in the bank I got an email back saying that I was in. My job was to keep track of how much money the people in room 14 have. After that i come and sort out the money. We get payed 8 kawa a day and if you finish early and help out you get payed exsta. When it was time to buy things I had 99 banqer dollars.

Goals

My goals for next term. My numeracy goal is to be in the highest maths group. My reading goal for next term is to be able to read punctuation well. My writing goal is to use paragraphs well.
