TRASH
By Andy Mulligan
This was a great book, and super exciting.
The book was about three boys from Manilla named Gardo, Rat and Raphael who lived at the Behala dumpsite. They were very poor and they had to collect certain types of rubbish to make money in order to survive. Life was very tough for them.
But, one day they were very fortunate and found a wallet with money inside. Not only was there money but there was also a note with some strange numbers on it that they didn’t understand. Quickly it became they were into something deep because the police were after the same note. The police were mean and not the good guys we think that they should be, especially to poor dumpsite boys. The boys go on a dangerous mission to discover what the note means, and try to understand understand why the police want the note so badly.
I liked it because it was an exciting book to read with lots of risks that the boys took. It made me think that not everyone is so lucky in life. And that some people that have lots of money and power can be greedy and only look after themselves. You should read this book!
The Beginner's Guide to Rugby.
By Aaron Cruden
An instructional book on the basics of rugby.
Aaron Cruden give basic tips on how to, kick, pass, step and tackling plus food you should eat before a game.
He also gives how to treat bad injuries.
He gives rugby facts and some of his heroes and stars.
Aaron grew up in Palmerston North and when he got older he played for Manawatu most people when they had watched him play they thought that he would not manage to play test rugby.
My favorite tip is that when you do a place kick follow the ball down with your hands.
DIARY OF A WIMPY KID DOG DAY
AUTHOR- Jeff Kinney
Diary of a Wimpy Kid is about a boy called Greg Heffley.
The main characters are Greg, Rowley, mom, dad, and Rodrick.
Greg is one of three boys that like to play on the play-station and they all hate sport. He is the second oldest out of the brothers. The oldest is Rodrick and Manny the youngest. This is the fourth book in the series of nine, so far. But it is one of my favourites because it is about when they owned a dog, well actually their dad did. The dog ate lots of their food which was very funny.
I enjoyed this book because it was funny and easy to read.
Although I am not really like Greg, in fact I am the complete opposite, I can relate to the jokes and his naughtiness is funny.
